Telluride rivers are ready!!!!!
Posted on 28 June 2017
Today the Dolores River dropped below 600 cubic feet per second! Its not like San Miguel Anglers to miss such a great moment. A quick stop for coffee and we were gone before the town of Telluride even woke up.
The river was decorated with a blanket of may flys. In this situation, with tons of may flys on the top and no fish rising to them, we switched to RS2 in 18 and used a hippie stomper as a strike indicator. With the correct ingredients, fly rod bends gave way to big smiles. Just for fun a few black stone flys in size 16 did there job also. With the great weather that is expected in and around Telluride this week, it is going to be a fun week to go fishing.
