Telluride Fishing Fun!!!
Posted on 01 August 2018
First of all I would like to apologize for the lack of post on here, but the fishing in the Telluride area has been great, and I would rather fish than sit at this computer, don't worry my priority's are in order. We still have low water, so we are still only taking morning trips, the water is getting warm in the afternoon so we are voluntary not fishing afternoons, just to give the fish a chance to rest and eat. Thunder storms are back for the season, I will fish in any condition except thunderstorms. Lightning is not to be taken lightly, and will stop my fishing instantly, be safe, fish another day.
Now on to the fun stuff, with low water the fish are in predictable spots, and are moving to several flys. We have been fishing mostly dry flys and to be honest as long as the drift is good, fish pay attention. We have been using caddis, hoppers, and when in warms up the black midge hatch has been nice also.
