May in Telluride!
Posted on 23 May 2018
Lets start with the weather, my morning walks have changed from gloves are a necessity, to better not forget the rain coat. This weather has had a interesting affect on the bugs here in Telluride and on the San Miguel, we are lucky enough to still have our micro stone fly hatch. We went ahead a brought in a new RS2 with a bead head to match this hatch and put a bend in a fly rod. At higher altitudes may flys have been coming off, the bugs are usually small and I would use a high vis bug to make it easier to see. Streamers, eggs and a guides choice hairs ear also fooled a few nice trout. This is the best May fishing i have ever seen in the Telluride area, get out there and have some fun.
Peace, love and bent fly rods,
Goose
